ATPR Crowned Champions After Six Weeks of Spectacular Action

In what was arguably the most exciting 6 weeks of actions in the history of the ATPR Singles & Doubles Tennis Challenge, the tournament have not one but all new champions in A category, B upper & lower, C upper & lower, the 14 under/Junior category and the Golden or 50 y/o above.
Nguyen Duc Ahn, the unfamiliar Vietnamese player posted a remarkable record in Al Yamamah, not having lost a set on the way to the finals emerged victorious in 6-2,6-3 demolition against the hapless Filipino Joe Boado. Duc Ahn took all the opportunities to advance in the opening game and was brave enough to crown as champion in A division of the challenge.
Bandar Al Enazi and Jebreel Asiri stale the show in their spectacular finals showdown in two hours and forty-two minutes in center court. Jebrieel Asiri prevailed in two sets tie breaks 6-5 (12-11), 6-5 (10-8). The two local favorites both earned slot in the finals by stopping the run of all the Filipino berths in the semis in B upper category of the challenge. Asiri upset Darwin Suson in the semis, 6-5,3-6,7-4, and Bandar stopped Dan Castro in two straight sets semi final meeting at 6-5,6-2. Read More
American Michael Mmoh Captures 2008 ATPR Junior Singles Championship

Riyadh, KSA, 01 December 2008: What a way to end the 2008 ATPR Tennis Challenge – Junior (14 under ) Category, playing in Al Yamamah for the first time, Michael Mmoh overcame a valiant challenge of Hussam Namani, a Syrian teenager and another new face in the circuit. The eleven year old American defeated two young and talented players on the way to the finals. He scored a convincing wins against the Briton Armon Rabi’ee in two straight sets 6-1,6-3 in the quarter finals and sidelined Andre Tuazon in three sets semifinals showdown 5-6,6-1,7-4. Hussam on the other hand had beaten Daniel Villasenor in two straight sets quarter finals 6-4,6-5 followed by a semifinal wins against Lloyd Valenciano at 6-4,6-2. Read More
